Welcome & Framing

This opening session sets the tone for the day and explains why we are gathering to focus on consumer led health and wellness at Stanford. We will introduce the core question of the summit, how individuals can practically take control of their health outside the four walls of the hospital, and why this moment in technology, science, and culture makes that question so important. You will hear an overview of the leaders and perspectives represented on stage throughout the day, including founders, investors, academics, and operators. By the end of the session, you will understand the structure of the agenda, how the key themes connect, and what we hope you will carry into your own work and life.

keynote

Future of Medicine 3.0

This session explores where healthcare is heading and why the current model is not enough. We will unpack the shift from Medicine 2.0, which focuses on treating illness once it appears, to Medicine 3.0, which emphasizes prevention, personalization, and continuous engagement with health. The conversation will highlight how science, data, and technology are reshaping care, and what needs to change in our systems and infrastructure to truly meet people where they are. Attendees will walk away with a clearer sense of what NextMed looks like in practice and what it means for companies, clinicians, and consumers.

Metabolic Health In Everyday Life

This session looks at how nutrition, metabolic tracking, and continuous glucose monitoring can work together to improve whole person health. Speakers will unpack how specific foods and habits influence blood sugar, energy, and long term metabolic resilience in ways people can actually feel day to day. You will hear how companies are using real time data, structured experiments, and personalized coaching to help people move from generic “healthy eating” advice to targeted actions that fit their bodies and lifestyles. Attendees will leave with a clearer picture of what truly matters in metabolic health, what is noise, and how to translate numbers on a dashboard into meaningful behavior change.

Sleep, Recovery and Peak Performance

This session explores how high quality sleep and intentional recovery drive sustained performance in work, sport, and everyday life. Speakers will unpack core sleep science and recovery principles, then dig into how new technology is turning those insights into real behavior change. Leaders from Eight Sleep will take you under the hood of its proprietary system, showing how sensors, data, and AI can detect patterns, personalize recommendations, and improve sleep over time. Attendees will leave with a clearer understanding of what actually matters for sleep and recovery, and how to translate metrics into practical decisions that support peak performance.

The Quantified Self

This session looks at how advanced wearables, continuous monitoring, and AI driven analytics are reshaping the way athletes and everyday high performers understand their bodies. Speakers will unpack how metrics such as heart rate variability, sleep stages, and recovery scores are moving from personal dashboards into clinical conversations, care plans, and research. The discussion will explore both the opportunities and the friction that arise when consumer generated health data enters the medical system. Attendees will leave with a clearer picture of what a truly quantified life could look like, what is realistic today, and how companies are building bridges between consumer technology and healthcare.

The Business of Healthspan & Longevity

This session examines how science based approaches to longevity and healthspan are moving from niche experiments into scalable businesses. Founders of leading longevity and healthspan companies will discuss how they translate research into products, services, and experiences that help people live higher quality lives for longer. The conversation will explore business models, evidence standards, and what it really takes to build trust in a space crowded with hype. Attendees will gain a practical view of where the market is headed and how serious operators are navigating regulation, reimbursement, and consumer demand.

Aging with Purpose

This session dives into the science of aging and what it takes to live a high quality life for as long as possible. Experts will translate cutting edge research on how and why we age into practical levers that individuals and companies can actually influence. You will also hear from founders who are building products, treatments, and programs that aim to slow, and in some cases partially reverse, biological aging inside the body. The discussion will separate signal from noise and highlight what is scientifically grounded today, what looks promising, and what remains speculative.

Health Beyond Hospitals

This session explores how a new generation of companies is moving care beyond traditional hospitals and clinics and into everyday life. Leaders from Superpower, Function Health, and Midi Health will share how they design care models that meet people where they are through virtual first services, data driven programs, and continuous relationships instead of episodic visits. The conversation will focus on what it takes to build trust, integrate with or work around existing systems, and deliver outcomes that feel both clinically credible and deeply human. Attendees will leave with a clearer view of how care delivery is being rebuilt from the ground up for a consumer led world.

Mental Health in the age of AI

AI is already used for self-help, triage, and clinician copilots. We’re seeing consumers turn to AI for emotional support, counseling, and self-administered therapy. This panel asks: How do we expand AI’s role in mental health while increasing net benefits—and what boundaries make that true? Clinicians, builders, and researchers will map where AI fits today, weigh benefits vs. risks (privacy, equity, crisis response), and highlight additional measures for kids and young adults. The goal is an informative, balanced conversation that equips attendees to interpret claims and ask better questions.
